ISSUE:

Entrepreneurs in the developing world have limited access to capital to grow their businesses. Sometimes a matter of $100 seriously lower a business’s chances of survival.

IDEA:

Kiva.org, the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowers individuals to lend directly to an entrepreneur in the developing world—allowing them to lift themselves out of poverty.

IMPACT:

118,702 people have loaned $11,870,035 to entrepreneurs in 38 countries. The repayment rate is a staggering 99.63%. Kiva.org expects to have facilitated a total of $100 million in loans by the end of 2008.

Hi friends

We've outgrown this 800-pixel wide website and we're moving to new digs.

While we pack up our things (i.e. articles and videos and stuff), we're shutting down commenting and new registrations on the current site.

Our new site is up and running at GOOD.is/.

Yours,
GOOD
